Welcome To MCC Christ The Liberator

CTL is a very special community of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer people. Founded in September 17, 1977. CTL has served the LGBTQ community for 40 years!  We believe that God calls us to do as Jesus did: To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God. (Micah 6:8)  At CTL, you'll always hear the Good News: "LGBTQ people are made in God's own image and nothing can separate us from God's love!"
Why NJ needs MCC Christ The Liberator!

Each year, it seems that more local churches become a "welcoming" place for LGBTQ people. Most churches will greet us with warm smiles and kind words. We might be invited to participate in church ministries or even in leadership positions. And while these are all positive signs of growth, many of these churches are still governed by denominations that cite homosexuality as a sin. They condemn LGBTQ people and deny us access to the holy sacraments and rites of marriage, funeral, and communion, to name a few. The tithes that LGBTQ people give in these churches supports their oppression. Christ The Liberator's message of hope and inclusion is needed now more than ever!

CTL RESISTS SPIRITUAL VIOLENCE: God heals us from those using the Bible as a weapon against us!
CTL RESISTS MARINALIZATION: God calls us out of our spiritual closets to live in community!
CTL RESISTS SHAME and GUILT: God reveals that LGBTQ people are made in God's own image.
CTL Proclaims "God Loves Us...Period!"

Universal Fellowship of Metropolitan Community Churches
The Inclusive Church

Metropolitan Community Churches are on a bold mission to transform hearts, lives, and history. MCC recognizes a state of need around the world in the areas of human rights and justice. As people of faith, we have a responsibility to act on behalf of those who cannot effect change on their own. We endeavor to build bridges that liberate and unite voices of sacred defiance. We lead from the margins. We transform.

Welcome to CTL
